FAQ

How quickly can a race car accelerate?

The acceleration rate of a racecar will differ depending on its weight.

For example, a lightweight car accelerates more quickly than a heavy car.

Who invented car racing?

Invented by Charles Brady King, who built the first automobile racecourse in Long Island, New York, in 1896. On July 4, 1896, the first automobile race was held.

What cars are used to race cars and why?

Speed is the most important thing to any race car driver. Speed is what makes them fast. They must be fast enough and strong enough not to lose the lead. This gives them an advantage over other racers as they can overtake others at high speeds and then pull away from them again when they're not looking.

The fastest cars are usually very lightweight. This allows them accelerate quickly and gain speed. However, this also means they have less power which limits how far they can travel in a short amount of time. This means they have to be efficient with their energy.

Engines power most modern-day racing cars. These engines work in a similar way to normal passenger vehicles. But instead of using petrol, these engines run on compressed air. This is because petrol isn’t strong enough to make a car go fast.

How many kinds of car racing can you imagine?

There are two main types of car-racing: open-wheel or closed-wheel. IndyCar is one of the open wheel races. Closed wheel races include Formula 3000, DTM, GP2, etc.
