Cole Matthew Custer, an American professional stock car driver, is his name. He currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Stewart-Haas Racing. He races part-time for SS Green Light Racing in the Xfinity Series. Custer is also the son of SHR President John Custer.

Before stepping into the Xfinity Series, Custer competed in the K&N Pro Series East. Although he was only a rookie for his first season, Custer won six races. This included a race in USAC's National Focus Young Guns Championship. He set a combined track record of setting a lap record at Iowa Speedway in the same season. He broke Dylan Kwasniewski's record for youngest winner of the K&N Pro Series. He also won the New Hampshire Motor Speedway from the pole and finished eighth in the series.

Cole Custer scored his first pole in the NASCAR Cup Series. The 21-year-old driver came from ninth place in the first qualifying heat race to finish second and secure the pole position for the Food City Dirt Race, which airs live on Sunday, April 29. Custer will begin third in the main competition, which will also be televised live by FOX, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR.

Custer placed in the top five at his second heat race. Custer was able to gain seven positions and earn 16 points. Stewart Haas Racing's driver won the pole for tomorrow’s main-event.
